Monty Python launches official YouTube channel

As the old saying goes, “if you can’t beat them, join them!”
As I earlier reported on “Geeks Are Sexy”, the Monty Python team has decided to get one up on the YouTube video downloaders by uploading high quality Python video clips to their own official channel. This is a refreshing change, instead of television companies and personalities taking legal action everytime a fan decides to upload a clip to YouTube.
Monty Python instead has decided to take the opposite approach by embracing the internet and the concept of video uploading, and asking fans to click on merchandising links so they can make money. This is likely to endear them to fans and likely to make people more receptive to the idea of helping them out by clicking on those Adsense links. It is also a public relations triumph for the Python team and for the BBC.
Other personalities and television broadcasters should take note of what the Pythons are doing and follow suit. They might learn something.
