Twellow the Twitter member directory

I’ve been taking a look at Twellow which is a directory of 300,000+ users of Twitter. It is categorised into what each user does, such as social media, SEO, etc, or the person’s job occupation, or perhaps what the person mostly talks about. So it’s easy to find someone if you’re looking for an expert in something. In my capacity as Make Use Of editor, I may use this to find new writers for example.
Twellow is a really good idea and I don’t know why Twitter hasn’t done this themselves officially. This is really the “phone book” of Twitter and I can see people using this a lot but I am a bit mystified as to why they haven’t got search functions such as Firefox search plugins or bookmarklets. The only way to use it is to go to the actual website. Therefore, as with many things, it’s a case of “out of sight, out of mind”. If there’s no plugin or no desktop app, I’m likely to forget about it sooner or later.
Out of curiosity, I looked myself up and there I am, along with my latest Tweet! I’m impressed. They even categorised me correctly.
