Google is experimenting with Adsense fonts

I don’t see how this could remotely affect Adsense revenues but Google is playing around with the fonts on Adsense adverts.
Now instead of your standard font, you’re now starting to see fonts such as ‘comic sans’ popping up.
Apparently some publishers are seeing an increase in their click-through rate and subsequently an increase in revenue. Other publishers are not so happy. I personally wouldn’t be happy to see adverts like that. I detest the ‘comic sans’ font.
As I said, I fail to see why changing the font translates into more money. Are people being memorised by ‘comic sans’? Are they being hypnotised into clicking? If so, it sounds like a devious Google plot to take over the world.

I thought Comic Sans was an odd choice as well, given how widely loathed it is. Having said that, I had a banner day yesterday, possible because the CS font looks bolder, and definitely stands out more. Now, I’m toying with the idea of re-doing my entire site in Comic Sans, and maybe renaming it, to comic-sans.com, too. This is clearly the way forward.
