A link from Google?

This is a good reason why you should check Google Analytics on a regular basis.

I checked just now and it turned out that Better Than Therapy was linked to by the official Gmail blog!

gmailbloglink A link from Google?

A link from Google and only 42 visits in the last month? That can’t be right. I had to check further.

Analytics gave me the link that I was linked to and it eventually turned out that Gmail was talking about their expansion into more languages and at the bottom of the page, they linked to a bunch of blogs that were discussing Gmail at the time, me included. So because I got crushed in with the others, it only garnered 42 visits.

But a link from one of Google’s official blogs? That’s golden. According to PageRank Checker, the Gmail blog is a surprisingly low PageRank 7 but it’s still a nice feather in my cap to be linked.

Gmail Blog didn’t link to your site. All Blogger blogs have a feature that lists all the other blogs that link to a post (it uses Google Blog Search). All those links are automatically created using JavaScript, so you don’t get any “Google juice”.
