Ah, 32 we hardly knew you. Welcome 33!
Yesterday was my 33rd birthday and it wasn’t as bad as I thought.
For those of you who are already 33 or older, you’ll know what I mean. You start to get depressed with each birthday because you think your life is going too fast and passing you by. But I realised yesterday that being 33 isn’t all that bad. I got some nice presents, I had some nice food and some great company. I found myself having fun and I guess that’s what counts the most at the end of the day - having fun. The actual age doesn’t really matter. It’s just a number. Life is so arbitrary anyway - you could be run over by a bus tomorrow for all you know. I guess I am slowly learning to ignore the number and just concentrate on making the overall quality of my life better.
I got lots of books that I asked for (to add to the 260-odd books that I already have in my library!). But the best present of all was satellite access to the British BBC television channels! Being in Germany, I was really missing British television and so when my girlfriend’s parents set up German satellite TV, they went one step further and also got the British BBC for me! As I write this, I am watching a John Wayne movie! The channels come through the Astra network and the picture / sound quality is excellent. I just have to remember the one hour time difference when consulting the TV guide!
I was also given a box which allows me to feed the satellite feed through to the computer screen and I can also record programmes as "avi" files - so the PC essentially acts as a video recorder if I am unable to watch it right there and then. The techie side of me loves this part and I am busy reading the manual.
Man, this satellite box is going to have a serious impact on my work productivity!

Remember: almond butter, green tea and berry juice. :O)
You have a young face, so there is much promise.
