The SEO Dream-Ticket
A very interesting article was posted today on Search Engine Watch about the shoddy and amateurish SEO on the websites of the politicians wanting to be their party’s 2008 US presidential candidate. It seems that the candidates still haven’t grasped that in this day and age, you need a top-notch web presence if you want to be discovered and if you want your message to be delivered to the voters.
I find it ironic that the only person who DOES seem to have grasped this is the man who has the least chance of becoming his party’s nominee - Congressman Dr. Ron Paul. Being better at the SEO game has had a huge knock-on effect in Paul campaign donations so it is obvious that when people search online for a candidate’s position on an issue, Paul’s stances are rising more to the top.
Paul’s more superior SEO might also have something to do with the fact that his supporters all seem to be young internet-savvy people who are obviously making the effort for Paul’s website to be found.
Maybe the other candidates should hire LESS political consultants and MORE SEO consultants?
