More on the new Gmail

The contacts manager is still inaccessible (just a blank screen) :

But here’s some other things I have noticed.

The interface as a whole is much smaller and more compact.    It’s as if someone has taken a wet sponge and given the Gmail interface a thorough clean (that’s the best I can describe it).    It just feels more compact and definately a lot smoother in operation.    As I said before, the speed of Gmail is now likely to give you a heart attack!

The font sizes in the email compose window and also the font sizes in the green labels box are also smaller which means the labels box has shrunk slightly.    The font in the email compose window is definately markedly different!     That will take some getting used to.

But the contacts are definately going through a rocky patch.    When I emailed some other Gmail account holders to ask them if they had the new version, it took forever for the email auto-complete function to start, and when it did, it was very shaky and sluggish.

More to come……..
